The reaction between Sodium Thiosulphate and Hydrochloric acid :: GCSE Chemistry Coursework Investigation

Investigate what happens to the rate of answer when the preoccupation of sodium Thiosulphate is altered in the answer between atomic number 11 Thiosulphate and Hydrochloric acid. range of reaction investigationAimThe aim of this coursework is to investigate what happens to the rateof reaction when the niggardliness of atomic number 11 Thiosulphate is alteredin the reaction between Sodium Thiosulphate and Hydrochloric acid. beneath is the reaction equationSodium + Hydrochloric Sodium + Water + due s revealh+ SulphurThiosulphate acid Chloride DioxideNa2S2o3 (aq) + 2Hcl (aq) 2Nacl (aq) + H2o(l) + So2(g) S(s)PredictionI predict that as the denseness of Sodium Thiosulphate decreases, the reaction time leave alone increase. The reason I consider this is becausethe collision theory says, that when there is a high concentration ofSodium Thiosulphate, there are more particles of Sodium Thiosulphatefloating around the irrigate molecules, this increases the chance ofcollisions between t he essential particles so therefore it will behave little time for the reaction to occur. Similarly, when there is a lesserconcentration of Sodium Thiosulphate and a higher concentration ofwater, there are less particles of Sodium Thiosulphate floating aroundthe water molecules, this decreases the chance of collisions betweenthe important particles so therefore it will take more time for thereaction to occur.MethodEquipment needed* 1 bottle of Sodium Thiosulphate* 1 Bottle of Hydrochloric Acid* Water* 1 Beaker* 2 pipettes* 2 measuring cylinders* goggle* Paper with X mark* Stop clockIn request for me to carry out my experiments I would need to miscellanea theconcentration of Sodium Thiosulphate in the reaction between SodiumThiosulphate and Hydrochloric Acid. I would do this by keeping thetotal volume of the reactant 50 all the time. I would change theconcentration of Sodium Thiosulphate by decreasing the volume ofSodium Thiosulphate and increase the volume of water in ten varie d experiments. In apiece of the experiments I would keep theamount of Hydrochloric acid the same and this would be 5cm. Below isa table of how I would do this. GRAPHIn localise for me to get an accurate result, I am going to carry outthese experiments three times. I will then work out the honest resultfor all three and use that to create my graph which will tell me howthe rate of reaction is affected by using different concentrations. In order for me to carry out my experiments I would need to make out thefollowing procedures1. Draw out an X on a piece and place it underneath the empty
